Students showed off their artistic skills through the making of personalised bookmarks, while our lunch-time book swap allowed students to exchange pre-loved texts and discover new stories. Throughout the week, English lessons encouraged students to expand their literary horizons through reading challenges and class competitions. The week concluded with Character Dress-up Day, where students and staff brought their favourite characters to life through creative costumes.

On Saturday 29 March, the Association of Teachers of French in Hong Kong and Macau (AFLE) hosted the 13th edition of the “Dictée de l’AFLE.”
This dictation exercise has become a beloved tradition in France and among francophone communities worldwide. During the event, teachers dictated passages while students worked diligently to transcribe them as accurately as possible. This exercise demanded intense focus and a strong grasp of French syntax and grammar.
“Félicitations” to all our WIS students who demonstrated their academic dedication and commitment to excellence. Results and certificates of competency will be awarded in the coming weeks.

In 1914, polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton led one of history’s greatest stories of
leadership and survival: the ill-fated Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition.

Over 100 years later, Year 9 West Island students followed in the footsteps of Shackleton, experiencing the adventure first-hand to see the effect climate change has had on the Antarctic region through immersive VR.

We are very grateful to the Royal Geography Society Hong Kong for organising this event.

On Saturday 29 March, the Association of Teachers of French in Hong Kong and Macau (AFLE) hosted the 13th edition of the “Dictée de l’AFLE.”
This dictation exercise has become a beloved tradition in France and among francophone communities worldwide. During the event, teachers dictated passages while students worked diligently to transcribe them as accurately as possible. This exercise demanded intense focus and a strong grasp of French syntax and grammar.
“Félicitations” to all our WIS students who demonstrated their academic dedication and commitment to excellence. Results and certificates of competency will be awarded in the coming weeks.

In 1914, polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton led one of history’s greatest stories of
leadership and survival: the ill-fated Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition.

Over 100 years later, Year 9 West Island students followed in the footsteps of Shackleton, experiencing the adventure first-hand to see the effect climate change has had on the Antarctic region through immersive VR.

We are very grateful to the Royal Geography Society Hong Kong for organising this event.
